Lt. Col. Mohamed Al Ahmad, Director of eServices and Communications at RAK Police, said that the Smart Assistance is undergoing development efforts to avail more smart services, and it could develop into a real robot in the future.

He added: The device is a man embodying a computer with a hat on the top of his head that bears the slogan of RAK Police HQ. The character helps the public identify various electronic services. The name in Arabic “Al Moeen Al Zaki” means “the Smart Helper”.

Al Ahmad highlighted that the innovation, which was born on July 2, 2015, came out of a creative idea in the department via the innovation lab. This was followed by the design process by specialist team members to reach the current design and functionality. The name was selected via a brainstorming session, focusing on representing the identity and brand of RAK Police.
