RAK Courts Launches First Zayed Cultural Competition April 07,2018

HE Dr. Saif Ali Bukhatameen Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Courts, launched the first Zayed Cultural Competition. The event, only one of the many initiatives in line with the Year of Zayed, will witness the participation of local government agencies.
Mr. Omar Al Maani, a corporate communications specialist within the department, presented the competition to the representatives of the participating local governmental authorities during an introductory workshop.
Al Suwaidi highlighted that RAK Courts announced the competition back in March in conjunction with the National Month of Reading in line with its strategic plan to strengthen the Department’s relationship with its partners and the society in general. The competition further stems from the Department’s compliance to the UAE’s National Law of Reading by spreading the culture of reading amongst its employees, enriching and exchanging knowledge and encouraging its employees to read.
“The competition is one of the many initiatives in line with the Year of Zayed, through which we seek to consolidate reading as an essential habit in the UAE in order to follow suit with the directions of our government and the vision of our wise leadership. The competition, moreover, bears the name of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan to honor his legacy and memory, to commemorate his achievements and to emphasize his vision in cultural and knowledge fields,” Al Suwaidi said.
The Director General then explained that the competition is being organized and supervised by the Court’s Office of Corporate Communications within the department. The Office is also entrusted with designation the procedures of the competition alongside the conditions and standards for participation. The competitors will consist of four employees per the 13 local authorities participating; who will compete over a course of two days on topics such as religion, national knowledge, literature, culture, history, mathematics, and science. The Courts will then host a special ceremony to crown a winner.
