Awafi Heritage Festival Kicks off on December 15th December 05,2018

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) announced the return of the anticipated “Awafi Heritage Festival” to the Emirate. This year’s edition will be held at Al Qawasim Corniche, making it accessible for visitors and residents to enjoy its wide range of cultural activities throughout the three-months event starting on December 15, 2018.
The festival celebrates the cultural heritage of Ras AlKhaimah, and will feature fun shows and activities for the whole family, including arts and crafts, cultural shows, children’s activities, live entertainment, and a traditional marketplace, giving visitors the chance to learn about local culture and experience it first-hand.
Free for the public, the festival will feature 54 retail outlets for various products, five food and beverage outlets offering delicious snacks and refreshments, and an 800 sqm children's playing area, inaddition to live entertainment shows every weekend.
Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “We are happy to announce the return of the festival which will run for three months instead of three weeks, allowing visitors to experience the Emirati culture and authenticity for a longer time.”
Mattar added: “The festival is a prominent event in the RAK's tourism agenda, as it attracts visitors from around the UAE and GCC countries to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of Ras Al Khaimah. We look forward to receiving visitors who want experience new cultures and enjoy the best accommodations and authentic Arab hospitality.”
