RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry
About Department
Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RAK Chamber) was the second chamber to be launched in the United Arab Emirates, established by Emiri decree issued on October 22, 1967.
The Chamber operates as a public-benefit institution, a legal entity with financial and economic independence. Since its establishment, it has represented the private sector and its various commercial, production and service activities. Since its inception, the Chamber has sought to provide premium services to its members and beneficiaries –businesspeople, entrepreneurs and investors – by delivering a stimulating work environment and advanced management and technological systems, enhanced by qualified and professional staff.
The Chamber aims to play a prominent economic and social role through its delivery of advanced and high-quality services to the business sector in Ras Al Khaimah, as part of its national duty to serve the community. The Chamber is committed to implementing strategies to create a new investment environment that fosters inclusive, sustainable and collective growth, in cooperation with relevant entities and organizations while embracing a forward-thinking approach to sustainable development.
The Chamber seeks to collaborate with all partners in the business community of Ras Al Khaimah to become a competitive, active, effective and sustainable driver of economic development. From this perspective, the Chamber is diligently working to provide innovative and high-quality business services to its members, always striving to offer value-added digital services. These efforts aim to diversify the Emirate’s economic base, enhance services and strengthen strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors. This contributes to achieving effective economic, social and institutional development, reinforcing the active role of private-sector enterprises in driving the economic development of the Emirate.
In recent years, the Chamber has succeeded in establishing itself as a reference point for multiple business sectors in the Emirate. It has assisted businesses in achieving their ambitions and aspirations in a way that serves the interests of the national economy. This has positioned Ras Al Khaimah as a leading hub for business and trade, and a preferred destination for investors, thanks to its thriving economic environment. The Chamber offers a secure environment that guarantees the rights of all parties through the commercial mediation services it provides for settlement of commercial disputes.
Ras Al Khaimah Exhibition Center was established in 1996 to serve as a vital link between businesspeople, entrepreneurs and project owners in the Emirate, as well as their counterparts worldwide. It also organizes and hosts regional and international conferences and exhibitions that enhance Ras Al Khaimah’s global standing. Today, the Exhibition Center plays a crucial role in bolstering the Emirate’s economic and tourism sectors.
Ras Al Khaimah also established the Saud bin Saqr Establishment for Youth Projects Development in 2008, to provide support to project owners in various sectors and to enhance and develop projects and SMEs in the Emirate. Additionally, the Emirate has established the Ras Al Khaimah Reconciliation and Arbitration Center, an independent, non-profit organization that offers commercial arbitration services and settles commercial disputes locally, regionally and internationally at competitive rates.
The Board of Directors of RAK Chamber is the supervisory body that oversees the Chamber’s affairs and tasks, with the authority to exercise its functions and make decisions as deemed appropriate to achieve the Chamber’s objectives within the scope of its assigned responsibilities. The Board of Directors consists of nine members: Youssef Mohamed Ismail, First Vice Chairman; Waleed Mohamed Abdulkharim, Second Vice Chairman; Mohamed Ali Adullah Al Sharhan, Finance Member; Dr. Rashed Abdullah Al Nuaimi; Dr. Aisha Al Qatami; Ahmed Abdullah Al Amash; Aarefa Saleh Al Falahi; Aaref Khalifa Almuzakki; and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mohamed Mosbeh Al Nuaimi.
