Saud bin Saqr Attends Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Al Jazirah Al Hamra Club April 06,2018

Ras Al Khaimah, April 6 (WAM)– Reiterating the significance of sports clubs in his speech, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi stressed the need to strengthen the roles of such clubs in order to instill the notions of loyalty and belonging within the hearts of young boy and girl participants. Adding further, His Highness spoke of harnessing the potential of the youth in a way that not only refines their talents, but also prepares them to represent and raise the esteemed reputation of the beloved UAE within international forums.
 
His Highness then congratulated the Club’s officials on the occasion and for the opening of its new facilities, stressing that work and solidarity are the two most important elements in further enhancing the UAE’s position and in ensuring the future development of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. His Highness also praised the tremendous efforts put forth in preparing and organizing the events that accompanied the celebration.

Shortly following the arrival of His Highness Saud Bin Saqr to the celebration, His Highness inaugurated the new Saud bin Saqr Stadium—the cornerstone of a new commercial project that includes 44 shops and other investment support facilities.

The celebration also included an operetta of five paintings. The first of which was a traditional marine painting reflecting the relationship between Emiratis in general and those from the Al Jazirah Al Hamra region in particular with the sea as a source of livelihood and pearl diving trips. The second painting served as a tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his role in establishing the Union along with the late Emirati Rulers.

The operetta also portrayed the establishment of the Al Jazirah Al Hamra Club in 1968 by the region’s people alongside the role the club has played in the past 50 years in the many athletic, cultural and social fields. It also addressed the achievements of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi within Ras Al Khaimah.

His Excellency Mohammed Humaidan Al Zaabi, Chairman of Al Jazirah Al Hamra Cultural and Sports Club, thanked His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi for his sponsorship and attendance. He then stressed that the Club's 50-year journey would not have been completed without the support and care of the UAE’s wise leadership; nor without their knowledge of the importance of sport and its role in building an individual’s character in terms of athleticism, nationality, and cultural identity.

His Excellency then said: “Al Jazira Al Hamra Cultural and Sports Club, under the patronage and attention accorded by His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, will be able to proceed in its journey to service the people of Ras Al Khaimah. As such, the Board of Directors is working in accordance to a timed schedule to enhance the commercial and investment aspect of the Club in order to enhance its financial resources. We are also working to establish a base of players from every age group and sport in addition to paying attention to our cultural and educational roles as a sports club.”

Adding further, His Excellency said: “Today we are laying down the foundations for a number of commercial investments—thanks to the generous help of His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. We are also studying a number of other new investments during the coming period to help us achieve the ambitions and aspirations of our club members to represent the club in various local sports events.”
