RAK Ruler stresses importance of creating sustainable environment for future generations September 27,2017

RAS AL-KHAIMAH, 27th September, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, has stressed the importance of creating an ideal and sustainable environment for future generations, to enable them to achieve further success.
During his participation in the 2nd Global Youth Leaders' Forum, an important meeting for youth leaders in the region that was held in conjunction with World Tourism Day 2017 at the Rixos Bab Al Bahr Hotel on Al Morhan Island, Ras al-Khaimah, Sheikh Saud said, "We live in a time where we must enrich our dialogue and discussion, and place forward creative and modern ideas, which will promote learning and knowledge. Without a doubt, our young citizens are a source of pride for us, as they have all the necessary capacities to impart science and knowledge to future generations."
Sheikh Saud added that empowering women and supporting their role is an essential part of the journey to create a successful and prosperous country. "We must all respect our environment, our society and ourselves, and we must combine our efforts to achieve our goals," he further added while noting that the youth are the true legacy of the country, and its goals should pave the way for their success.
The forum was also attended by Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras al-Khaimah Department of Economic Development, RAK DED, Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and several other officials.
The forum highlighted the need to prioritise the development of the nation’s youth, to enable them to take the necessary steps in adopting a successful approach to sustainability, in business, the environment and the community.
The sponsorship of the Ras al-Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, RAKTDA, of the forum, which was organised by Leaders Middle East, a leading regional politics and business magazine, is an important step in the right direction, as the UAE is one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in the region, according to the World Tourism Organisation, UNWTO, the organiser of World Tourism Day, which focusses this year on the theme, "Sustainable Tourism - A Tool for Development."
During the forum’s opening ceremony, Haitham Matar, Executive Chairman of the RAKTDA, said that Ras al-Khaimah is committed to achieving sustainability in various sectors.
