Incheon National University of South Korea Awards Honorary PhD to Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah May 02,2018

His Excellency Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Economics in recognition of the economic growth and achievements partaken by His Highness within the Emirate.
Held at the Incheon National University (INU), the ceremony was attended by HE Abdullah Saif Ali Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to South Korea; HE Mohamed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; HE Khalid Abdullah Yousif, Board Member of RAK Ceramics and Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone Authority (RAKEZ) and a number of senior officials.
In a word to the crowd of students, faculty members and Dr. Dong-Song Cho, President of Incheon National University, His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah said: "I am honored and filled with gratitude to receive such a degree from this prestigious university.”
In a speech dedicated to the attending students, His Highness said: “University is what shapes your future. It is therefore necessary to focus on yourselves as individuals and to work towards making a difference in the society. Despite the long, arduous journey that can be exhausting both mentally and physically— the successes and the culmination of all of your efforts and perseverance will indeed pay off.”
"As the UAE was being formed, South Korea was on the edge of economic prosperity, and both of our countries have witnessed major developments over the past decades," His Highness added while pointing out that South Korea is present today among the G20 members and is a world leader in the fields of electronics and manufacturing.
"Our beloved country is now a stabilizing force in the Arab world and stands as a model for others. We have utilized our oil to build prosperous cities and diversified industries; while also welcoming people from all over the world to join us in our vision to achieve a science and knowledge-based society that embraces its many cultures.”
"We have succeeded in improving knowledge and education in Ras Al Khaimah through the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research. The Foundation’s research is vital to understanding Emirati society and ensures that the society is purposefully engaged in order to confirm that they are a part of our bright future through working with us at every step.”
Dr. Dong-Song Cho, President of Incheon National University, expressed his pride of the University’s recognition to such an inspiring leader that has dedicated his life to the development of Ras Al Khaimah, stating:
"The vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, can now be clearly perceived throughout the UAE along with the changes in Ras Al Khaimah stimulated by economic development. We highly praise his leadership and dedication to economic development and community innovation.”
