The wife of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi: “Sheikh Zayed always believed in the capabilities of Emirati women,” August 28,2018

Sheikha Hana bint Juma Al Majid, the wife of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, praised the UAE Founding Father, the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for his wisdom in empowering UAE women and in enhancing their role. Through his vision and support, Emirati women have contributed to the development and renaissance of the UAE since the days of its establishment. Throughout the various phases and fields, Emirati women have occupied prestigious positions in regional and global levels.  On the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, Sheikha Hana said: "It is widely known that the UAE celebrates its Emirati Women’s Day each year on August 28. What distinguishes this year from the others, however, is that it comes as an embodiment and an act of loyalty to our Founding Father, the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had always believed in the capabilities of the women of the UAE and their role and duty towards their country. Ever since His Highness established the Union, he realized that Emirati woman must fulfill their full role and take advantage of opportunities to participate in the comprehensive development plans alongside their brothers. The foresight of Sheikh Zayed regarding the needs for women to play such a role within the nation and society, has strengthened the merit of women’s ability to become influential figures in the UAE’s international status amongst the world’s largest institutions and organizations.”
The wife of His Highness Sheikh Saud then continued by stating that the wise vision of the late Sheikh Zayed on the empowerment of Emirati women, has had a profound impact on the status of women in the UAE.
Additionally, Sheikha Hana bint Juma Al Majid said that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the UAE has fully been inspired by Zayed and has adopted his approach and beliefs towards Emirati women.
Further in her speech, Sheikha Hana added that the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood ‘Mother of the Nation’, has supported Emirati women as an integral part of Zayed's approach. Her Highness has worked side-by-side with the late Sheikh Zayed to support women in many areas.
"Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, sets an example as the first successful experience for Emirati women.”
