Free kids’ activities put family first for Eid celebrations

Ras Al Khaimah’s beach, city and mountain hotels and resorts are putting a new shine on Eid Al Adha celebrations being a real family affair with a diverse range of value-for-money breaks which include an array of free kids’ activities.

The fabulous hotels and resorts throughout the emirate - the northernmost of the seven in the UAE - are raising the staycation bar to offer up relaxing escapes to one of the region’s fastest-growing tourism destinations.

“The Eid break gives people the chance to stay in the emirate on exceptional value for money packages, as well as experiencing nature based adventure attractions and sporting options, including mountain hiking, biking  safaris, sunset picnics and camping  on Jebel Jais, horseback riding in a protected desert wildlife area and  desert camping, golfing on a stunning lagoon- wrapped championship course , plane tours and connecting with wildlife in the mountains, desert and Arabian Gulf,” said Haitham Mattar, CEO, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA). “This is an inclusive destination where all tastes, for all ages, can be met. There’s a 7,000 year old history for culture vultures to explore, superb beaches and watersports, desert and mountain activities - all of which will be set against a backdrop of locals celebrating Eid with all the joyous vigour that has hallmarked Emirati culture down the ages and which is there for all to embrace and soak in.”

Relaxation and adventure are guaranteed at the Al Wadi Desert, Ras Al Khaimah, a Ritz-Carlton Partner Hotel, which is set in the Wadi Khadeja sanctuary. The five-star property is serving up an Eid Al Adha ‘family special’ which includes an overnight stay in a 158 square metre, Bedouin-inspired Al Rimal private villa, which can accommodate three adults or a family of two adults and two children, from AED 2,999++ per per night.

Guests will soak up luxury in nature with their own private villa pool with open desert views and a cozy seating terrace. The offer includes buffet breakfast and dinner, daily owl interactions, falcon shows, complimentary wifi and access to the Al Wadi Nature Reserve. For a little extra, guests may like to luxuriate in the resort’s hydrotherapy spa.

The all-inclusive coastal haven, the Rixos Bab Al Bahr resort, is offering a 20% discount on its best available rates for two-night stays with a barbecue buffet in its Sea & See Beach Bar for inhouse guests. The resort’s ultra-luxurious, Turkish contemporary Anjana Spa - which boasts separate Ottoman-inspired facilities for men and women - has an Eid promotion for a 40-minute Turkish bath and a 60-minute Argan Oil aromatherapy massage for AED640.

 

The uber-luxurious Waldorf Astoria will celebrate Eid Al Adha throughout its lush outlets including the all-new Le Diwan Shisha Lounge, where guests can savour typical Arabian shisha and delectable mezzeh platters while enjoying complimentary games, such as backgammon, daily from 3pm until midnight.

Beach lovers can opt for the idyllic setting of The Cove Rotana Resort with its Nubian-inspired villas nestling on a water inlet of Ras Al Khaimah’s stunning coastline. This is one for lovers of watersports, which take off from the resort’s magnificent 600-metre pristine beach. Those looking for a more sedate break can simply relax around one of two outdoor infinity pools while the kids splash around in their own shallow pool.

The resort will put extra spice into the holiday celebrations with a special Eid Brunch at its international all-day dining restaurant Cinnamon. Running from 12:30pm until 4pm, the brunch comes in at AED 199* with chilled juices, water and soft drinks or AED 269* with selected in-house beverages. In the daytime, DJs will pump out holiday entertainment at the Sunset Pool Bar, which has breathtaking views of the whole resort and Breese Lobby Lounge in the evening.

Hilton fans have tempting deals to choose from across the brand’s three properties in the emirate – the Hilton Garden Inn Ras Al Khaimah, the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa and the Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort. Guests booking directly via the hotels’ individual websites qualify for a 20% discount on their stay while members of the Hilton Honors loyalty programme can get a 25% discount including kids’ breakfast on the house.

Great Eid relaxation treatments await at the five-star, beachfront Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa which boasts nine treatment rooms, two hammams, a whirlpool plus a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The 60-minute ‘Bundle Me Up’ packages come with tempting price ranges and expansive session periods lasting up to 180 days, while the ‘Eid Al Adha’ 60-minute facial, at AED325, comes with a complimentary back, foot or head massage.

The award-winning, five-star Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort, with its sea and mountain views, will rustle up a South Pacific atmosphere with a cooked-to-order Polynesian Tiki Brunch at its ever-popular Trader Vic’s Mai Tai Lounge from 11:30am to 3pm on Friday, September 1st at prices from just AED195.

The Creekside Hilton Garden Inn Ras Al Khaimah opts for an Arabian theme with its ‘Shower Me With Shawarma’ promotion at The Pool Bar where, for just AED25 a portion, guests get to sink their teeth into freshly sliced and rolled Shawarma with a special recipe drink to wash it down.

Meanwhile, it’s entertainment all the way at the four-star, beachfront Al Hamra Residence and Village, which is serving up a Splashing Pool Party for the long weekend on Friday, September 1st. Running from 4pm until 10pm, this is one for party animals with singles paying AED100 for entry and couples going free. The party will carry on at the resort’s The Village English Pub, where a guest DJ will spin new mixes from a killer playlist from 10:30pm. Entry is free.

Saturday, September 2nd will see the pub come alive from 8pm with all the fun of its ‘Karaoke Evening’ where guests can choose to sing from an extensive playlist, vie for village stardom and win a chance to take sing with the pub’s resident Colombian rock band. The focus moves from singing to dancing on Sunday, September 3rd with the resort’s ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ pool bar dance session from 4pm, where guests can learn swaying salsa moves from the pub’s Colombian band.
