Ras Al Khaimah Police Wins Middle East Excellence Award for its “Himaya” System September 17,2017

Ras Al Khaimah Police won the Excellence Award for its “Himaya” (Protection) project during its participation in the 5th National Security Middle East 2017 summit, which was held at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and Spa on September 11-13.

The summit was attended by Lt. Col. Mohammed Abdulrahman Ahmed, the Director of the E-Services and Communications Department, who received the award on behalf of Ras Al Khaimah Police. He also presented a paper on the Himaya system outlining the importance of the project and the reasons behind the system and its goals and work mechanisms, in addition to highlighting the most important points of the law issued by His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah on technical systems for the security of facilities (the Protection system).

The Director explained the system’s capabilities which consist of 88,500 internal and external surveillance cameras that were installed in around 13,900 facilities in Ras Al Khaimah. He also underlined the effects of these capabilities on the results achieved since the system went online, most important of them is raising the sense of security to 95% in 2016 compared to 90.5% in 2015.
