Ras Al Khaimah Begins Preparations for Year of Zayed and Innovation Month December 23,2017

The Ras Al Khaimah Committee for Annual National Initiatives instructed various sectors in the Emirate and their relevant departments and establishments to recognize the Year of Zayed 2018 and UAE Innovation Month with special and active initiatives and plans. The Committee’s directive was also extended to private and civil society establishments.

The Committee stressed that these initiatives and plans must suit the status of the two occasions, given the unique value the Year of Zayed holds in the hearts of the Emiratis as it bears the name of the founder of the UAE. The importance of the second occasion stems from key role of innovation in realzing sustainable development and progress of nations.

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Khalifa, Secretary General of Ras Al Khaimah Executive Council, Chairman of the Committee for Annual National Initiatives, chaired the first meeting of the Committee at the Headquarter of Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence in preparation for the two aforementioned occasions.

During the meeting, Dr. Khalifa said that Ras Al Khaima launched preparations for the occasions in light of the vision and directions of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and the close follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Emirate's Executive Council, on holding unique, productive, and practical activities that hold patriotic values.

Dr. Khalifa pointed out that the Ras Al Khaimah Committee for Annual National Initiatives consists of 15 members representing vital sectors in the Emirate, including local and federal state departments and establishments.

He noted that the Committee called on the representatives of these sectors to make calculated plans for their initiatives and activities during the next stage in order for them to be studied by the specialized committee and devise a comprehensive plan for the Emirate's activities and initiatives for Year of Zayed which will be celebrated throughout 2018, and for Innovation Month.
