RAK Ruler visits WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 October 17,2017

ABU DHABI, 17th October, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, on Tuesday visited the 44th WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, the world championship of vocational skills, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The event is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
H.H. Sheikh Saud toured the participating pavilions at the exhibition, which will continue up to 18th October, 2017. He was accompanied by Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, Abdulaziz Al Zaabi, Second Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council, and others.
The RAK Ruler hailed the UAE's hosting of this international competition, which reflects the country's firm approach to caring for young people and relying on them to continue the process of development in the future.
During WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, 1,300 competitors from across the globe will compete to be the very best in their chosen skills. There will be competitions in 51 skillsets ranging from floristry to bricklaying and aircraft maintenance to mobile robotics.
Almost 60 member countries and regions have sent their teams to compete in the championship. WorldSkills promotes vocational skills through its membership, which represents two-thirds of the world’s population.
