RAK Crown Prince attends Annual Forum for Best Government Practices 2017 May 25,2017

RAS AL KHAIMAH, 25th May, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah and Chairman of the Executive Council, has attended the 11th Annual Forum for Best Government Practices 2017, held under the theme, "Smart Government", and organised by the Sheikh Saqr Programme for Government Excellence in partnership with the Electronic Government Authority. 

The forum, which was held at the Ras al-Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, saw the participation of the heads and directors of government departments and institutions, and leading researchers and followers of institutional excellence affairs and best government practices. 

The forum included two sessions. The first session reviewed two worksheets, the first was titled, "The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s Experience in Electronic Government", presented by Eng. Mohammed Abdulwahab Al Khayat, Director of the Smart Services Department at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, while Khaled Abdulrahman Al Awadhi, Director of the Automated Collection Systems Department at the Authority, presented another worksheet, titled, "The Federal Authorities’ Experience in Building the Smart Government". 

The second worksheet was presented by Eng. Saeed Mohammed Belhoul, Director of the Electronic Government Operations Department at the Dubai Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, titled, "The Federal Authorities’ Experience in Building the Smart Government", which was also presented by Mohammed Mustafa Barhouma, Programme Director at the Electronic Government Authority in Ras al-Khaimah. 

The topics of both sessions focussed on smart services as one of the most important and effective government tools capable of making customers and the community happy, in line with the fourth generation system for government excellence, to transfer knowledge and develop local government system, complying with international standards. 

The Sheikh Saqr Programme for Government Excellence, in co-operation with the Electronic Government Authority, has organised this forum to highlight the best government practices in the field of smart government. 

The forum aims to highlight the role of innovation in achieving institutional excellence, demonstrating the best national practices in electronic transformation and smart government, exchanging ideas and experiences about the country’s best practices in innovation, as well as enriching the culture of excellence and providing a modern communication channel.
