RAK CP inaugurates "Innovation in Community Services Event" at Ministry of Community Development February 14,2018

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah, inaugurated the Ministry of Community Development’s "Innovation in Community Services Event" in Al Ghail, in the presence of Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, coinciding with UAE Innovation Month.

During the ceremony, which took place at the Al Ghail Youth Centre, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud launched the "Mobile Cooperative Associations Initiative," organised by the ministry in co-operation with the Armed Forces Cooperative Association. The initiative aims to provide consumer goods to community members who reside in three developing areas in Ras al-Khaimah targeted by mobile co-operative associations, which are Adhen, Al Saedi and Al Ghail.

The launch of the initiative is based on the belief of the ministry and the association in the importance of developing services for various segments of the community and facilitating access to such services, to implement the vision and goals of the UAE government and the National Agenda 2021.

The event included entertainment and education workshops for families and children, such as a robot workshop and a live exhibition of the innovations of the youth who are affiliated with local youth centres, as well as a curiosity lab that targets children and conducts scientific experiments in a fun way to attract them.

The event will continue throughout UAE Innovation month, as the Ministry of Community Development will target, during its third week, people of determination with hearing disabilities. It will also organise, in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and the "Consultative Council for the People of Determination," an innovation lab for those with hearing disabilities at the Festival Marina in Dubai.

Several people with hearing disabilities and leaders and members of the community will attend a brainstorming session, to come up with ideas and initiatives to support this segment of the community, explore their overall future aspirations, and draft recommendations to empower them. The lab will also include a free drawing workshop and a sign language workshop.
