RAK Academy for the Gifted Takes Part in Smart Brain International July 29,2018

Five students from RAK Academy for the Gifted have taken part in ‘Smart Brain’, the international competition for extraordinary capacities held in Thailand. The event witnesses the participation of more than 2000 students from all over the world.

Sumaya Abdullah Hareb Al Suwaidi, director, Ras Al Khaimah Educational Zone and chairman of the board of trustees  of Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation, explained that the Academy’s team comprised of five students with outstanding mathematic abilities. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation sponsored the team by providing material and moral support to the students, who had been trained and motivated since last September in preparation for this important event.  

“The competition aims to develop a creative generation that is capable of possessing numerous skills in mathematics and calculation,” Al Suwaidi said. “Our ultimate goal is to enhance positive competitiveness among students, discover the creative ones, and harness their capacities ito enable them to occupy leading positions in the ranks of future scientists.”

Al Suwaidi also noted Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation’s commitment to introducing everything that is distinctive and useful to society. “Participating students were 8 to 13 years old, four males and one female. This is one of the important international competitions that serves to assess the students’ abilities and skills in addition to how well they understand the curriculum they studied in the past years,” Al Suwaidi added, pointing out that the participants had been selected through a thorough process prior to the competition. She also stressed that partaking in such events enhances the students’ awareness and will reflect positively on them in the future.  “Our students are highly intelligent and have the ability to learn and acquire the skills that would help them pursue their future studies and achieve their aspirations of obtaining the highest of scientific degrees,” she concluded.
