The Free Zone option offers the benefit of 100% foreign ownership in the new venture, as well as exemption from custom duties within the Free Zone area. This option is best suited for trading and service entities or for export oriented companies whose primary market is outside the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and GAFTA (Greater Arab Free Trade Area) region.
Products manufactured by companies within the Non Free Zone area can be exported to all GCC countries without any customs duties. The products need to meet the criteria of at least 40% value addition to avail this advantage. The Non Free Zone is ideal for manufacturing units whose primary market is within the GCC and GAFTA.
